Lumbini Buddhist Minority Educational Society under the Chairmanship of Sri D. Anantharamulu was established in Bhongir (near Hyderabad) in 1981, with the main objectives of inculcating wisdom and professional education among the youth, (Hailing from rural/urban areas) who are economically & educationally backward. To meet the objectives, the society has established colleges and technical institutions to develop capability amongst dedicate youths, who can actively participate in the development of the country.
Vathsalya Institute of Science & Technology (VIST) was established by Lumbini Buddhist minority educational society in August 2001 at Anantharam, Bhongir and was approved by AICTE, new Delhi and govt. of Andra Pradesh. The Lumbini Buddhist minority educational society has rich experience of 24 years in the field of education. It established several colleges an industrial training institute knows as "Krushi ITI", "SSK Jr., Degree & PG College", Vathsalya College of Business Management (MBA)” and Vathsalya College of Education (BED) - all in Bhongir town which is approximately 30kms from Hyderabad with a total strength of 2000 students.

Sri Daripally Naveen Kumar has dedicated his life to the promotion of higher education in rural areas. For almost a decade now, he has gained a formidable reputation as an institution-builder and "Teacher’s Teacher". He is the whole time director of "VIST".
